Health Communication Unit

Health Communication Unit, Centre for Health Promotion

The Health Communication Unit is a provincial resource centre funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health, Health Promotion Branch. Begun in 1993, it was developed to provide training and support in health communication. In 1997/98, its mandate was expanded to include health promotion planning, evaluation and policy change. It is one of three fully funded research units at the Centre for Health Promotion, University of Toronto, along with the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (at the Addiction Research Foundation), and the Quality of Life Research Unit.
