Background

In response to growing evidence of the benefits of providing community-based programs with centralized support and resources, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Community and Health Promotion Branch(now the Ministry of Health Promotion), invited the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health to develop a FOCUS Resource Centre (FRC), in collaboration with the Ontario Drug Awareness Partnership, the Ontario Public Health Association, the Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse and the Health Communications Unit, Centre for Health Promotion. This centre would operate in a similar fashion as other Resource Centres funded by the Community and Health Promotion Branch (e.g. Heart Health).

The FOCUS Resource Centre (FRC) is a member of the Ontario Healthy Communities Consortium.
