Tip #53
Copying Text from the Net
Ever notice that when you copy and paste text from the internet into a word document, that you often
get alot of extra garbage? A trick for copying the text and not getting all the extra junk is to copy
the text as you would normally, highlight the text you want and choose "Edit" "Copy" and rather than
selecting "Paste", pick "Paste Special" and "Unformatted Text", then clikc OK. You can also get rid of
this extra formatting in an existing Word document, by choosing the Format menu. Choose "Select Styles"
and "Formatting" and then, "Clear Formatting".
Note: Word often hides menu choices that aren't used often. You may have to click on the down
arrow to show all of the choices before the Paste Special command will show.
