- Culture Counts: Best Practices in Community Education in Mental Health and Addiction with Ethnoracial/Ethnocultural Communities

- This report documents the results of the first of three phases of the Best Practices in Community Education in Mental Health and Addiction with Ethnoracial/Ethnocultural Communities Project.
The goal of the report is to illustrate the diversity of norms, beliefs and attitudes towards alcohol use in ethnoracial/ethnocultural communities, recognize the common barriers in accessing information and services, and identify culturally appropriate approaches in community education
and knowledge transfer addressing mental health and substance use problems in these communities, including messages focusing on reducing risks associated with drinking. The report will provide the basis for the development of a Best Practices Manual and a set of guiding principles to be used by service providers to direct their outreach to ethnocultural communities.

- The Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition (OHCC) has developed a Tool Kit to assist community organizations in becoming more equitable, diverse and inclusive than they are at present.
The purpose of our Tool Kit is to support diversity and improve inclusion within small to mid-sized, volunteer-based, not-for-profit organizations. It provides the necessary foundation for community organizations to develop a "critical lens" which will allow them to reflect on their organization's current position and respond effectively to ensure that they reflect local demographics. The suggestions offered will enable community organizations to develop and adapt initiatives that are appropriate to their individual circumstances.
- Choosing and Adapting Culturally and Linguistically Competent Health Promotion Materials

- The Guide aims to assist groups in making appropriate choices among existing materials, as well as to provide recommendations to adapt such materials for use in health promotion efforts.
