Drug Policy Development
The RISK Coordinator can assist you in preparing a workplace
alcohol policy. This may require a few meetings. Management
support is essential to this endeavor as part of a comprehensive
workplace wellness program.
The following publications may help get you started. The
Drug & Alcohol Information Package is a basic "how-to" for
developing a drug & alcohol policy. The other two documents
are samples of policies you may wish to adapt to your needs.

Presentations / Displays
We have a large number of fact sheets, reports and booklets
on a variety of topics related to substance abuse (impaired
driving, policy, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder, best practices,
etc.). We also have a few videos which can be loaned out
for lunch & learn events. RISK can prepare displays and
do short presentation to staff in workplaces. We have some
ready-made displays which can be borrowed for special events.
We may also be able to customize a display for your needs
using posters we have available. Some of these displays
are more appropriate with a corresponding presentation.
Ready-made displays include:
- Low-Risk Drinking Practices - Chronic Disease Prevention
- Party Safe - Party Smart
- The Consequences of Drug Use

Upon request, we can prepare a presentation to suit your
needs.
Suggested topics include:
- Low-Risk Drinking Practices - Chronic Disease Prevention

- Demonstration using Fatal Vision Goggles. These specially
designed glasses that simulate the physical effects of
being impaired by drugs or alcohol. Participants put them
on and are required to complete several simple physical
